BANGOR – This summer, Maine Department of Transportation crews will be working on Interstate 95 southbound in Hampden to replace the worn surface on the travel lane of the Souadabscook Bridge.
Crews will remove the deteriorated surface of the bridge, then replace it. Construction is scheduled to start Monday, June 9, and last approximately 10 weeks. Last summer, crews replaced the passing lane.
During the construction period, the travel lane over this bridge will be closed, and through traffic will be restricted to the passing lane. There will be a 12-foot lane restriction 24 hours a day, seven days a week during the construction. The travel lane will be closed for the duration of the project.
