While I was interested in the article about corneal transplant surgery, I did not appreciate the up close and personal picture that greeted me at the breakfast table. Pictures of actual medical procedures do not belong in a daily newspaper, especially on the front page above the fold.

Pictures of actual medical procedures do not belong in a daily newspaper, especially on the front page above the fold. Leave that for the medical publications.
If you must use close-ups of surgeries being performed, offer them on your Web site for those who wish to view them.
