Trade assistance OK’d for Auburn layoffs

AUBURN – Workers who were laid off from Thos. Moser Cabinetmakers in Auburn are eligible for government trade adjustment assistance.

Maine Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins say the certification from the Department of Labor frees up benefits for the workers that include re-employment services, training and job search allowances.

The senators said the Thos. Moser company has been hurt by foreign imports and had to lay off employees last year to counter rising production costs.
