Hill, Gervais spark Houlton

HOULTON – Ryan Hill and Porter Gervais combined on a one-hitter as the Houlton Shiretowners defeated Madawaska 11-1 in six innings in high school baseball action Friday.

Hill and Parker Brown sparked the Houlton offense with a double, a single and two RBIs each. Hunter Caron doubled and singled, while Gervais singled twice with an RBI.

Nathan Beaulieu hit an RBI single for Madawaska.

Ashland 12, Wisdom 2

At Ashland, Lucas Belanger hit a two-run double in the first inning and followed with an RBI single in the second inning to help lead Ashland to victory over Wisdom of St. Agatha.

Carl Nemer and Nick Gimbel each singled and scored two runs for the Hornets.

Alex Michaud paced Wisdom with a double and a run scored.

At Danforth, Andrew Gilman hit a two-run double in the sixth inning to give East Grand the win over Hodgdon.

Kaleb Dicker singled three times for the Vikings. Kevin Campbell hit a two-run single in the fifth, and Abe Brittain had seven strikeouts in earning the win.

Travis Quint hit a double and two singles to pace the Hawks. Jamie Ryan doubled and singled. Mike Rimbos and Ryan combined for 11 strikeouts.

At Washburn, Tyler Robinson pitched a five-inning no-hitter with 10 strikeouts as Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook triumphed.

Dakota Sleeper doubled twice and singled (RBI), while Steve Grant chipped in with two singles and scored a run for the Warriors.

At Van Buren, Matt Enman collected four hits, including a three-run triple and solo home run, and he drove in nine runs on the day for Limestone/Maine School of Science and Mathematics.

Chris Parent tossed a one-hitter in five innings of work, striking out 11 and walking five.

Alex Martin hit a solo homer for Van Buren.

At Eastport, the Tigers’ Ryan Bowen and Timmy Barnes combined to no-hit Greater Houlton Christian Academy.

Bowen pitched the first three innings and Barnes went the last two. They totaled five strikeouts plus four walks and a hit batsman.

Joel Francis led Shead with three singles and two RBIs, Tommy Pottle added a double and single and Justin Lewey posted two singles and two RBIs.

At Fairfield, Greg Higgins allowed no earned runs on three hits and one walk while striking out eight to lead the Witches over the Bulldogs.

Jon Thoms had two singles and two RBIs for the Witches. Chase Daniels hit a two-run double in the seventh inning, and Eric White hit two singles and drove in a run.

Ryan Manzo led Lawrence with an RBI single in the first inning.

At Houlton, Erica Lackey, Brittany Geel and Taylor Bailey each doubled and singled to lead the Shiretowners to the five-inning victory.

Bailey had two RBIs and Lackey and Geel had one RBI apiece, while Chelsea Murray and winning pitcher Nicki Eastman each had two singles and two RBIs.

Steph Nadeau doubled and Kallie Pelletier singled for Madawaska.

At Danforth, Amanda Ryan doubled three times and scored three runs to help push Hodgdon past East Grand.

Sam Lycette had two doubles and two runs scored for the Hawks and Heather Rockwell added two doubles and an RBI.

East Grand’s Jackie Dodge hit two doubles and drove in three runs. Tisheena Roy had three doubles and an RBI and Nikki Tuck hit two doubles and knocked in two runs.

At Van Buren, Victoria St. Pierre hit three singles, a double and a second-inning grand slam to lead Limestone/Maine School of Science and Mathematics over Van Buren.

Kellie Peers hit three singles and drove in four runs for the Eagles and Melanie Allen hit a three-run homer in the fourth, her 11th of the season.

Sophomore Jennifer Ouellette led Van Buren her first career home run, a two-run shot in the fifth inning. Kristen Vaillancourt doubled and singled with three RBIs and Kristal Deschaines added a double, single and two RBIs.

At Washburn, Evang Goodall singled three times with three RBIs and pitched a complete game with 10 strikeouts to spark the Warriors to victory.

Lauren McGary hit two doubles and two singles for Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook and Liz Goodall belted a two-run home run and two singles.

Amanda Libby (1 RBI) and Kristen Goupille posted two singles each for Washburn.

Ashland 26, Wisdom 2

At Ashland, a three-run homer by Whitney Flint and a solo shot by Crystal Cook highlighted a 14-run second inning that propelled the Hornets past the Pioneers.

Andrea Mayo also hit a three-run homer in the game plus two singles and had five RBIs. Flint also had a single, and Cook added a single and totaled two RBIs.

For the Pioneers of St. Agatha, Elsie Bell hit an RBI single and Delya Michaud recorded a single.

Lawrence’s Megan Lovely hit a two-run homer in the first inning and added two singles.
