SCARBOROUGH – Maine troopers say a South Carolina motorist led them on a low-speed chase that ended with help from a truck driver.
Stephen McCausland of the Maine Department of Public Safety says 77-year-old Harold Kent of Bluffton, S.C., drove away as troopers investigated a car parked the wrong way on the Maine Turnpike.
McCausland says Kent weaved across the highway during the ensuing low-speed chase before a tractor-trailer operator helped troopers box in the car.
Kent appeared confused and was taken to a hospital. He is charged with eluding a police officer.
