Ann McInerney, who served last season as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Harvard University, has been hired as an assistant at The College of the Holy Cross in her native Worcester, Mass.

“She brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, recruiting connections and class to our program,” Holy Cross head coach Bill Gibbons said in a press release.

McInerney was the head coach at the University of Maine from 2005-07, directing the Black Bears to a 23-34 record. She resigned suddenly in April 2007, although neither she nor UMaine officials would discuss the reason for her departure.

Prior to UMaine, McInerney spent six seasons as the head coach at Division II Merrimack College and five seasons as an assistant at Bentley College.
