Art sale, patio party to aid scholarship fund

BELFAST – Waterfall Arts’ current exhibit, “Treading Lightly: One Foot at a Time,” closes Friday, May 30, with a sale of artwork and a patio party.

The sale, from noon to 8 p.m., benefits the youth scholarship fund, with many of the 200 artists donating some or all proceeds from sales to the fund. As an added incentive to help Waterfall Arts ready the Clifford Gallery for the next show, selected artwork will be available at a 50 percent discount.

A free party to celebrate the creativity of Treading Lightly starts at 6 p.m. in the patio area at 256 High St. Music will be provided by the Portable Corners Bus, a traveling group of experimental musicians from Oakland, Calif. Refreshments will be available.

Gallery hours at Waterfall Arts are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and Tuesday and until 8 p.m. Wednesday, through May 30. The next exhibit, “Mind the Gap,” an installation by photographer Anna Strickland, opens June 6. For information, call 338-2222 or go to waterfallarts.org.
