BANGOR – Tim Barnes and Joel Francis knocked in two runs apiece to lead Shead High School of Eastport past Woodland 6-4 in baseball action at Mansfield Stadium Saturday.
Barnes hit two singles while Thomas Pottle and Francis each hit a double for the Shead Tigers.
Kyle Pike led Woodland with two singles and two RBIs. Scott Boomer had a triple and a single while Chad James hit a triple for the Dragons.

DI-S sweeps Jonesport-Beals
At Deer Isle, down 6-4, Deer Isle-Stonington scored 12 runs in the sixth inning to defeat Jonesport-Beals 16-6 in Saturday’s first game. The Mariners also won the second game 14-2 in six innings.
In the first game, Eric Moran hit two, two-run singles in the sixth inning for DI-Stonington. Collin Ciomei hit a three-run homer and Eben Powers had a triple, two singles and four RBIs.
Jonesport-Beals’ Harry Beal hit a double, two singles and knocked in two runs. Sid Look had an RBI single.
In the second game, Ciomei had a triple, two doubles and two RBIs for the Mariners. Ethan Pinkham totaled four singles and two RBIs. Powers hit a two-run home run in the fifth innings and Eric Moran added two singles and two RBIs.
Harold Lyons and Look each had two singles and two RBIs to lead the Royals. Terrell Carver doubled and singled.

At Woodland, Shelby Bassett pitched a five-inning no-hitter with eight strikeouts and hit three singles to power Woodland by Shead of Eastport.
Ariel Knights drove in four runs on a home run, a double and a single while Julia Nicholas tallied three singles for the Dragons.
