ORONO – The Maine Folklife Center at the University of Maine in Orono and Cultural Resources Inc. of Rockport are co-sponsoring a training workshop on perfecting methods of collecting, documenting and presenting local stories.

The June 23-26 “Story Bank Institute” will be held in the Totman Room of the Memorial Union on the UMaine campus. Attendees will learn fieldwork techniques, audio and video recording, digital photography, archiving methods and how to develop public presentations.

The workshop, funded in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, is free to selected participants. Applicants will be reviewed and extended to about 15 people.
