HERMON – Morita’s School of Dance, marking its 40th anniversary, competed in Portland at the Dancer’s Inc. competition, bringing home a high gold with Birdie Sawyer, Denise Knowles and Stephanie Knowles, plus high score in their division.
The Senior Line won gold in Large Group Tap and High Silver in jazz and hip-hop. They also received a specialty award for perfect timing in tap.
Katie Bahlinger, Destinee McBean, Mary Davis, Madeline Good, Tori Tuzzolino and Courtney White won high silver in the small group jazz, junior division.
Nicole Harvey won gold for her tap solo. Roxanne Pitcher competed in solo contemporary, taking high silver.
Duet with Brianna Savoy and Jaimie Deschaine won high silver and high point in their division.
Morita’s School of Dance and River City Dance will hold their 40th anniversary productions May 31-June 1, at Peakes Auditorium, Bangor High School.
The schools, for ages 3 through adults, will showcase the Bucksport, Lincoln and Milo studios at 3 p.m. Saturday, and the Hermon studio at 2 p.m. Sunday.
