BERWICK – Maine State Police say the van involved in this week’s hit-and-run crash that killed a 43-year-old woman has been found in Somersworth, N.H.

Investigators say the van is registered to a Maine man. Police will be processing the vehicle for evidence and plan to interview the driver.

Authorities launched a search for the van after Deborah Archer of Berwick was killed around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday while walking her dogs along Route 9. Archer was the sister of Berwick Police Chief Timothy Towne.

Witnesses had initially described the van as green or gray, but state police say it was white.
