CORINNA – The town will celebrate Old Home Days June 27-29. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Celebrating Corinna’s Agricultural Community.”
Celebration events include a parade, agricultural fair (including farm animals and sheep herding demonstrations), spin-in of hand spinners from throughout the state, a sidewalk art festival, quilt demonstrations and an art contest.
The state commissioner of agriculture, Seth Bradstreet, will be honored as the parade’s grand marshal.
The Fire Department will hold a chicken barbecue and provide an evening bonfire.
There will be lots of activities, including horse-drawn wagon rides, pie-eating contests, adult piggyback races, a fishing derby, an antique car show, and a 5K road race.
The theater group will present a play; a gospel concert will feature Fishers of Men and the Campbells on Sunday evening at the Levi Stewart Library Building Auditorium.
The Morses Corner Church will hold a pancake breakfast Saturday morning, while the United Methodist church will hold a spaghetti supper Saturday evening.
Artists are strongly encouraged to register by calling the Corinna town office at 278-4183 as space is still available.
