Ettinger hit lifts ‘Jammers Camden Hills scores twice in eighth to edge Eagles

ROCKLAND – Chelsea Ettinger hit a two-run double in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Camden Hills the win over Lincoln Academy of Newcastle.

Ettinger hit a double and two singles to lead the Windjammers. Susie Heal and Katharine Johanson each had two singles. Haylei Bucheit allowed just one run in six innings of relief.

Kassie Lincoln hit an RBI single in the eighth for the Eagles. Becca Rice doubled and singled.

At Belfast, Brianna Webster’s RBI single in the sixth inning provided the margin of victory as the Lions held on to knock off the Panthers.

Vickii Overlock induced a fly ball with the potential tying run at second base to end Medomak Valley’s three-run rally in the seventh.

Webster added another single for Belfast, while Darcie Simmons posted two singles and Caroline Carr a double.

Melissa Ambridge singled twice for Medomak Valley of Waldoboro. Tessa Dodge and Ashley Hunt each doubled.

At Waterville, Jordan Kennedy allowed five hits and two walks while striking out seven to lead Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield to the shutout of Waterville.

The Huskies’ Brooke Libby scored Kristen Sousa from third on an RBI groundout in the first inning. Lydia Fortin added an RBI single in the inning. Kristen Sousa doubled.

Paige Gardiner allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out nine for Waterville.

Jonesport-Beals 13, Machias 1

At Machias, Brittany Alley singled four times and drove in two runs to help give Jonesport-Beals the win over Machias.

Breanna Beal hit a double and three singles for the Royalettes.

Kala Conley singled twice for Machias and Courtney Dahl added an RBI single.

At Dexter, Michelle Chapman fired a four-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts and only one walk and also smacked three singles as the Tigers cruised.

Raven Patterson paced the Dexter offense with two triples, a double and three RBIs. Eva Wing singled twice.

Megan Higgins, Sara Bradshaw, Kylie Jettinghoff and Jana Francis-Mezger each hit a single for Searsport.

At Eastport, with a one-run lead in the sixth inning, Zach Newman hit a two-run single to put the game away as Calais defeated Shead.

Josh Gillespie struck out 11 for Calais and Jeremy Carr hit an RBI triple.

Tommy Pottle doubled and singled with an RBI for Shead. Timmy Barnes hit a single and a double and Joel Francis singled twice.

At Machias, Zack Fenton singled twice and scored three runs to lead Jonesport-Beals to victory over Machias.

Harry Beal doubled and singled for the Royals.

Matt Little hit two doubles with an RBI for Machias. Joey Whitney added a double, single and an RBI.

At Thorndike, Will Harmon hit an RBI single in the third inning and Keil Lemieux followed with a two-run single to break the 2-2 tie and give Mount View the victory over Rockland.

Keller singled three times for Mount View and Derek Keller doubled and singled.

Dave Searle hit a double for Rockland.

At Belfast, Zach Pease hit two singles and drove in two runs as Medomak Valley of Waldoboro beat Belfast.

Steven Gerthner singled three times for the Panthers. Alex Goldrup and Dustin Drier each hit two singles.

Jake Arthers hit a single and a two-run home run for Belfast. Derrick Bernosky and Ty Bowen both doubled and singled and Dale Dutton singled twice.

At Dexter, Kyle Gould scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning after junior C.J. Giles hit a two-out single to lead Dexter past Searsport.

Dexter’s Ethan Woodman tied the game at 2-2 with an RBI double in the fifth inning. Giles had a double, two singles and a run scored and A.J. McGowen singled twice.

Senior McGowen allowed two runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out 12.

Searsport’s Casey Ashey allowed three runs on eight hits and no walks and struck out 15.

Both pitchers tossed 118 pitches in complete-game efforts.

Tom Cameron singled four times and drove in a run for Searsport and Josh Pedrick added two doubles and an RBI.

At Milo, Garen Manzo pitched a no-hitter, allowing just one walk and no runs as Stearns of Millinocket defeated Penquis.

Justin Pelkey had a double and four singles with an RBI for Stearns. Manzo tripled, doubled and drove in two runs and Cory Barnett hit a two-run home run in the third inning.

At Orono, Colin Ziegenbien hit a double and two singles while scoring two runs to lead Old Town past Orono.

Casey Estes doubled and singled with an RBI for Old Town. Lance Getchell singled twice.

Kash Keezer and Anthony Cyr each doubled and singled for Orono. Sophomore Jake Stoddard had two singles and an RBI and Kirk Francis singled twice.

At Howland, Dylan Worster allowed two runs on three hits while striking out three to help lead Penobscot Valley past Lee Academy.

Joe Gilley singled three times and drove in a run for the Howlers. Dylan Thompson doubled and Anthony Batchelder had a single and an RBI sacrifice fly.

Dean MacDonald hit a double to lead Lee Academy.

Katahdin sweeps BC Patriots

At Stacyville, Andy Kay tripled twice and knocked in four runs to help lead Katahdin to the 24-12 win over Bangor Christian in the second game of a doubleheader. Katahdin also won the first game 14-9.

In the second game, Josh Guiggey and Josh McGraw each had two doubles and three RBIs for Katahdin. Kay had two doubles and a single with an RBI and Evan McCarthy added two singles and two RBIs.

Phil Dougherty hit two singles and a home run to pace the Patriots. Jared Theriault had and RBI single.

In the second game, Mark McGraw had three singles and four RBIs for the Cougars. Ethan Qualey hit two doubles, two singles and drove in three runs. McCarthy had two doubles, a single and two RBIs and Josh McGraw doubled and singled with three RBIs.

Chris Potter had a double, two singles and three RBIs for Bangor Christian. Alexander Harvey hit two singles with three RBIs. Mike Smith and Jon Johnson each doubled and singled.
