As the beauty and uniqueness of the Moosehead Lake area are continually espoused by those on both sides of the Plum Creek development proposal, I am reminded of the testimony of a 30-something gentleman from Massachusetts, now living in the Moosehead area, who sought a better quality of life for his family.
He spoke in favor of the development at the early December 2007 public hearing at Greenville High School. I wondered then and continue to wonder six months later why he and other proponents want to change the natural beauty so profoundly that attracted them in the first place. Perhaps he should have considered a Maine suburb.
