PORTLAND – Grammy Award winner Bonnie Raitt will perform a concert this summer for Tom Allen’s Senate campaign.

The singer and musician will play on Aug. 11 at Portland’s Merrill Auditorium.

In a statement released by Allen’s campaign, Raitt is quoted as saying she supports Allen’s stance on the war in Iraq, renewable and alternative energy sources, and climate change.

Allen is seeking to unseat Republican incumbent Susan Collins.
