Foxcroft rallies by Dexter Stearns, John Bapst, BC record baseball victories

DOVER-FOXCROFT – Jamie Nason’s third single of the game, coming with one out in the bottom of the seventh, drove in the winning run as Foxcroft rallied for a 15-14 high school baseball victory over Dexter Monday.

Ian Champeon’s two-run single had keyed a five-run sixth inning that erased a 14-9 deficit.

Champeon had another single and finished with three RBIs. Tony Gabarro had three singles and an RBI for the winners and Josh Conroy doubled and singled and had an RBI.

Nason picked up the win in relief.

Rick Stewart tripled, doubled and had two singles for Dexter and drove in three runs. Mike Lockhart had a two-run homer and a two-run single, Gavin Cote had three singles and three RBIs and Ethan Woodman doubled and singled.

At Houlton, Corey Barnett hit a single and a fourth-inning three-run home run to lift Stearns of Millinocket over Houlton.

Garrett Manzo had two singles and two RBIs for the Minutemen and Jared Manzo singled twice.

Justin Pelkey and Jared Manzo combined to strikeout 16.

Houlton’s Ryan Hill hit a two-run triple and Jordan Bragan singled and scored a run.

DI-Stonington 10, Lee 3

At Lee, Collin Ciomei hit a two-run homer in the second inning to give Deer Isle-Stonington a lead they would never relinquish as the Mariners defeated Lee Academy.

Eric Moran doubled and singled with two RBIs for DI-Stonington. Ethan Pinkham singled twice and Ciomei had eight strikeouts in five innings.

A.J. Harris led Lee with two singles and Chance Raymond singled and scored a run in the seventh inning.

At the Winkin Complex in Bangor, Jon Gagnon tossed six innings of five-hit, two-run ball and had a two-run single in a four-run fourth inning that broke a scoreless tie.

Gagnon struck out eight and walked two. Nick Smith pitched a scoreless seventh.

Miles Gagnon had a two-run triple in the fourth.

Casey Hull had two doubles for the Crusaders and Kyle Gallant tripled and singled and drove in a run.

Ryan Helms had a two-run double for Hermon and Brian Day pitched a complete-game six-hitter.

At East Millinocket, Jon Johnson hit three singles, drove in two runs and had 11 strikeouts as Bangor Christian defeated Schenck.

Chris Potter doubled and singled for the Patriots. Jared Theriault and Alexander Harvey each hit an RBI single.

Dan Faloon had two singles and an RBI for Schenck. Trevor Violette singled twice.

At Corinth, Tyson Tash’s two-run double sparked a five-run first inning and the Lynx made the runs stand up.

Bookie Nesin hit a run-scoring single in the first and Tash added an RBI single in the third for Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln. Tyler Tash (six innings) and Peter Coggins combined on a three-hitter.

Nick Harvey singled twice, including a two-run hit in the sixth for Central. Scott Kelley scattered five hits and struck out eight.

At Morton Field in Augusta, Ryan Miroty gave up just one run on two hits while striking out six as Cony defeated Bangor.

Mike Poulin hit a solo homer in the third inning while Jake LaChance and Luke Dunklee stroked RBI singles in the fourth for the Rams.

Ryan LaRochelle drove in a run with an RBI groundout while Kyle Vanidestine and Ian Edwards both singled for Bangor.

At Houlton, Brittany Guiod hit a single and a second-inning solo home run to help push Houlton past Stearns of Millinocket.

Lainey Herring had a triple and two singles with two RBIs for the Shiretowners. Nikki Eastman recorded 12 strikeouts.

Stearns’ Katie Mill doubled while Angela Levesque singled, scored two runs and struck out nine Houlton batters.

Richmond sweeps Greenville

At Greenville, Amy Russell pitched a shortened two-hitter and a three-hitter to lead the Richmond Bobcats to a doubleheader sweep of Greenville, 13-1 and 14-1.

In the first game, Russell struck out 10 batters and walked one. Shelby Hurley had a triple, single and three RBIs. Nicole Tuttle had two singles and two RBIs.

Nikki Hamilton hit an RBI double for the Bobcats.

In the second game, Tuttle had two doubles and a solo homer to lead Richmond. Hurley hit a home run and a double for two RBIs. Chelsie Sullivan had three singles.

Nikki Hamilton hit an RBI triple.

At Lee, Laci McLaughlin hit a two-run single in the first inning and scored two runs to help lead Lee Academy to victory over Deer Isle-Stonington.

Becca Burrill added a two-run single in the fifth inning for the Pandas.

Anika Powers doubled, singled and scored a run to lead the Mariners. Britnie Jones and Holly Brewer both added two singles.

At East Millinocket, Jillian French pitched a perfect game, striking out 19 of the 21 batters she faced as Bangor Christian closed its regular season with a win.

Christin Pelletier had two singles and a double while Becca Smith and Kelly Robinson hit two singles apiece for the Patriots.

Courtney Withee singled three times and Megan Crocker hit two singles for the Ponies.

Raven Patterson, Sam Conway, Becky Johnson and Amy Conway all singled for Dexter.

At Corinth, Bree Hanscom broke a 4-4 tie in the top of the 10th inning with an RBI triple to drive in sister Brooke Hanscom and lift Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln over Central.

Bree Hanscom added a three-run double in the seventh inning to tie it at 4-4 for the Lynx.

Brooke Hanscom and Hilary Pelkey each had three singles for Mattanawcook. Taylor Trask and Deni Nicastro combined for 14 strikeouts.

Kara Voisine hit a two-run single in the third inning and added three other singles to pace Central. Sami Morin singled twice.

At Augusta, Megan Cloutier hit a two-run single and Chelsea Soule added a pair of singles for the Cony Rams as they earned a pointworthy Class A victory over Bangor.

Amy Hackett had a double and single (RBI) and Erin Dean added two singles for Bangor.

At Hermon, senior righthander Ashley Kelley allowed just two hits and no walks while striking out 10 to give Hermon the shutout win over John Bapst of Bangor.

Jaimie Beers hit an RBI triple in the sixth inning to lead the Hawks. Marissa Kelley tripled and Monica Gallant added a single and a run scored.

Devin Richard and Whitney Sinclair singled to lead the Crusaders.
