LEAVITT – Brittany Luetjen smacked a grand slam in the first inning to help lift the Hampden Academy Broncos to a 10-3 high school softball victory over the Leavitt Hornets Tuesday.
Jill Carlisle tallied three singles and an RBI for Hampden. Michelle Wells hit a double and scored three runs while Morgan Doyon hit an RBI single for the Broncos.
Lacey Littlefield pitched six innings with 10 strikeouts to earn the win.
Kate Dyer hit two singles and Robyn Nelson had a double for Leavitt.

At Bangor, Devan Richard allowed four hits and one walk with five strikeouts and her John Bapst Crusaders of Bangor edged Central.
Whitney Sinclair’s two-run double with the bases loaded was the big hit in a three-run fourth inning that gave the Crusaders all the runs they’d need. She had a double, single and two RBIs. Hillary Laferriere had two singles and an RBI.
Hillary Haney took the loss after allowing six hits and three walks.

Doug Nash had a double and two singles for Leavitt and Gard Castonguay singled twice.

Josh Guiggey tripled and doubled for Katahdin. Ethan Qualey had a two-run double while Josh McGraw hit a triple for the Cougars.

Corey Smith had a double, two singles and three RBIs for the Knights. Blake Chase had a double and a single while Josh Beal singled twice.
