Hampden Academy
HAMPDEN – Hampden Academy will hold its graduation exercises at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 8. Tickets are required for admittance to graduation. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. The class marshal is Annika Earley.
Matthew Cowin will give the valedictory address. Matthew is the son of Peter and Ann Cowin of Hampden. He was born in England and moved to America in 2003. He has been involved in drama for three years as both an actor and a student director. He was a member of the National Honor Society as a senior. He also has participated in the band, the school newspaper, computer club and math team, which he captained in his senior year. Matthew will attend Bowdoin College in the fall.
Alex Caddell will deliver the salutatory address. Alex is the son of Clare and Jim Caddell of Winterport. He has been involved in activities including National Honor Society his junior and senior year, math team, varsity golf team and the varsity tennis team. He has had an active role in the Junior Classic League, as a state senator his junior year and Hampden Academy JCL vice president his senior year. He also enjoys spending time biking, hiking, kayaking and cross-country skiing. Alex plans to attend the University of Maine next fall.
Michelle Wells will deliver the honor essay. Michelle is the daughter of Rodney and Theresa Wells of Winterport. She has been an active member in several activities including National Honor Society her senior year. She was a three-sport athlete, competing in varsity soccer and softball for four years, and participating in indoor track. She was a captain on the soccer team her senior year, and received All-Conference honors in soccer and softball. Michelle will attend Bowdoin College in the fall.
