BANGOR – The 13th annual Eastern Maine Soap Box Derby will be held on Saturday, June 7, on Buck Street between the Bangor Daily News and Paul Bunyan Park. Youngsters ages 8 to 17 will compete in races using cars they have built from kits.

BANGOR – The 13th annual Eastern Maine Soap Box Derby will be held on Saturday, June 7, on Buck Street between the Bangor Daily News and Paul Bunyan Park.

Youngsters ages 8 to 17 will compete in races using cars they have built from kits. Winners in three categories will go on to the All-American Soap Box Derby in Akron, Ohio.

Activities for children will be held, weather permitting, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on the lawn in Paul Bunyan Park. The Pit Stop Carnival will include a bounce house, dunk tank, pony rides, ducks on the pond, face painting, balloon darts, ring toss and cake walk.

Proceeds will benefit Neighbors Supporting Neighbors Food Pantry and Twin City Baptist Church.
