After Seasoned Worker Forums for older workers last month in Augusta, Lewiston, Portland and Rockland, the Seasoned Workforce LLC will present a forum from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, June 23, at the Bangor CareerCenter.
The event is designed for people over age 50. Many who have attended the forum have found jobs. Many more have attended to discuss the issues facing older workers and to explore other opportunities available.
There are dozens of jobs and volunteer activities where seasoned workers are said to be making a difference.
The event is sponsored by the Seasoned Workforce in conjunction with the Bangor CareerCenter, the Tri-County Workforce Investment Board and several local employers.
Because of space restraints and the response to the forums around the state, seating will be limited.
With the increasing retirements of the baby boom generation the labor force is facing shortages of qualified people. People who are retired, semiretired or looking for full- or part-time work are being urged to attend the forum.
The Bangor CareerCenter is located at 47 Oak St., between Hancock and Washington streets in Bangor. Light refreshments will be served. For more information and to reserve a spot, call 561-4050.
