The Orono Police Department has welcomed a new officer, Edward Leskey, who most recently was employed at the University of Maine Department of Public Safety.

Leskey, originally from Ohio, graduated from the Ohio Police Academy in 2003. He is a graduate of Trinity College and Seminary in Newburg, Ind., with a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies.

“[He’s] a welcome addition to the department,” Orono police Capt. Josh Ewing said.
