LEWISTON – The Federal Election Commission says Republican congressional candidate John Frary could face penalties because of errors on two campaign finance reports.

The FEC said one report by the retired history professor from Farmington failed to identify a bank or list an account for campaign funds. The other report lacked exact information on disbursements and the source of money Frary lent to his campaign.

While taking a swipe at “federal bureaucracy,” Frary said he was working to provide the commission with the required information and suspected that he would be hit with a fine.

Frary is unopposed to become his party’s nominee in the 2nd District against Democratic Rep. Michael Michaud.
