BANGOR – Kate Freudenberger’s triple off the center field fence drove home Amy Wadleigh with the game-winning run with one out in the bottom of the 10th inning as No. 2 Bangor edged No. 7 Nokomis of Newport 1-0 Thursday for an Eastern Maine Class A quarterfinal softball victory.
Sophomore Sam Bedore earned the pitching win, scattering five hits while striking out eight and walking no one.
Patrice Cianchette pitched a seven-hitter for Nokomis of Newport. She struck out six. Kori Mayo had two singles for the Warriors.

John Bapst’s Hillary Laferriere drove in the first run in the fourth inning with a single. Whitney Sinclair and Ellen Umphrey each singled and scored.
Anna Seavy hit a single in the fifth inning for Ellsworth to score Lauren Peer, but the potential tying run was thrown out at the plate.
Peer doubled for the Eagles and Lily Cooper hit a bunt single and stole a base. Ashley Smith singled.

Santheson added a single and scored a run on a Tessa Dodge sacrifice fly for the Panthers. Rachel Keefe tripled and Conary added another single.
Ashley Kelley hit a two-run double in the first inning for Hermon, and Jaimie Beers hit two singles.

Sam Morse, who gave up one run on seven hits, singled twice for Erskine.
Renee Libbey hit a run-scoring single for the Lynx, while Bree Hanscom produced two singles.

At East Sullivan, Brenn Alexander scored the winning run from third on an infield error in the bottom of the seventh inning as No. 1 Sumner of East Sullivan survived a scare from No. 8 Penquis of Milo.
Shelby Fowles singled in the first inning and came around to score to give Penquis a 1-0 lead.
Sumner scored twice in the fifth, as Morgan Traxler tripled and scored on a single by Angela Leach to highlight the rally.
Tashia Daley scattered four hits and struck out 10 batters to earn the win. Traxler finished with a triple and a single, while Leach singled twice.
Erica Lyford pitched a four-hitter with five strikeouts for Penquis. Christin McKenzie singled twice.

The righthanders allowed no runs on four walks and 11 strikeouts.
Bangor Christian’s Moriah Bach hit two doubles and a single to drive in four runs, and Becca Smith had two singles, a double and four runs scored.
Chelsea Brasslett, Kelly Robinson and French each had two singles and three RBIs. Libbey Long added a double and three RBIs.
Sam Lycette walked three times to pace Hodgdon.

Liz Hall posted two singles and two RBIs, while Jessica Keating added two singles and an RBI for the Buccaneers.

Kyle Gallant had three singles and three RBIs for the Crusaders. Casey Hull had a double, a single, and two RBIs. Charlie Merritt, Jon Gagnon and Andrew Casey each had two singles.
Tyler French had two singles and two RBIs while Tim Nason added an RBI single for Bucksport.

Caribou’s Pat Thibodeau allowed three earned runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out six.
Thibodeau doubled and singled with a run scored for the Vikings. Eric Brown hit an RBI single and Seth Sager singled twice.
