PORTLAND – A Livermore Falls teen diagnosed with cystic fibrosis achieved his goal of skydiving this week.

Two times last month, 13-year-old Scott Marraffa was thwarted by rain and clouds, but there were clear skies for his big leap on Wednesday. The teenager and his tandem partner landed a mile off the mark because of wind gusts, but they landed safely.

He had this advice afterward: “Go for it because you never know what’s going to happen.”

Now, he can check off skydiving from his list of things to do while he’s healthy. Also on the list are bungee jumping and going to space camp, along with visits to the Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore, the Grand Canyon and several locations in Europe.
