PORTLAND – Roman Catholics from around the world are in Canada to celebrate their faith for a week of prayer, reflection and fraternity. A group of 55 Mainers will be among those attending the International Eucharistic Congress in Quebec City.
The gathering opened Sunday and lasts a week. On Thursday, Bishop Richard Malone will lead the Maine group on a bus trip to Quebec.
The congresses are held in various locations every four years. The last was held in Guadalajara, Mexico, in 2004.
