Woman kicks in door, punches boyfriend in face

An Old Town man learned Tuesday that sometimes even a locked door does not hold back a raging woman.

When Jessi Feare, 26, stopped by her boyfriend’s Water Street apartment around 11:20 a.m. she found another woman inside, according to police reports. Feare grew angry, and her boyfriend, Scott Ouellette, 35, managed to shut the door and lock her out of the apartment. But witnesses told police the locked door didn’t stop Feare. The Indian Island woman kicked the door open and punched Ouellette in the face, according to reports.

Feare was arrested for domestic assault, criminal mischief and burglary. She remained in Penobscot County Jail as of Tuesday night.

Refusing to go down alone, however, Feare told Old Town police Sgt. Mike Hashey that Ouellette had marijuana plants growing in the apartment. When confronted about the plants, Ouellette revealed the four marijuana plants, which were seized by police, according to reports. Ouellette was summoned for marijuana cultivation. A Bangor man was arrested late Monday night after he refused to leave police property.

Bangor police first noticed the apparently intoxicated Brian Rice, 30, making loud growling noises and shaking a small tree along Washington Street. Awhile later, he was spotted in the nearby Police Department’s back parking lot and became combative when officers tried to move him along, according to reports.

Rice twice had refused a ride home, but as he walked past Officer Eric Tourtelotte he slapped the officer on the shoulder and mumbled something the officer did not understand, according to reports. When Tourtelotte asked Rice not to touch him, Rice retorted with profanities. As officers tried to remove him from the property, Rice took a swing at one of them, according to reports.

After the swing, Rice fell to the ground and was taken by ambulance to Eastern Maine Medical Center for a laceration on his head. He was treated at the hospital and released, but went only as far as Penobscot County Jail after being arrested for assault. He had made bail by Tuesday night. (Toni-Lynn Robbins, BDN)
