AUGUSTA – The Northern New England Chapter of The ALS Association will hold an open meeting of the Community Leadership Council of Maine at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at Jewitt Hall Auditorium at the University of Maine at Augusta.

The CLC consists of volunteers who work with professional chapter staff to raise awareness about ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease, and broaden the reach of services and support programs to assist those living with ALS. Mainers who attend the meeting will learn more about the disease, how to help people with ALS and how to help the chapter in its outreach and fundraising efforts.

Speaking will be Dr. Jay Taylor, director of neurological services at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.

For information contact Jim Hamel, ALS Association executive director, at 603-226-8855 or executive.director@alsanne.org.
