A Bangor woman was jailed after allegedly stabbing another woman in the leg during a fight Monday evening.

Laurie Presby, 47, apparently stabbed her partner in the thigh twice during a domestic altercation at a Grove Street residence at around 7 p.m. Monday, police said. The victim, who was not named by police, was treated at Eastern Maine Medical Center and released.

Bangor police Lt. Tim Reid said Presby was arrested Tuesday and charged with aggravated assault. She was being held at Penobscot County Jail on Tuesday evening on $5,000 bail.

Presby could be arraigned on the charges as early as today, Reid said. (Kevin Miller, BDN)
