DEDHAM – U.S. Sen. Susan Collins announced that Sarah Hayward of Dedham was awarded a summer internship in her Washington, D.C., office. Hayward’s primary duty will be to assist Collins with constituent relations.

“Sarah’s academic profile and strong work ethic will be a great asset to my Washington office,” said Collins. “Internships are extremely beneficial in providing students with the opportunity to gain real life experiences. During Sarah’s internship she will be able to learn the inner workings of a Congressional office by experiencing it first-hand.”

Hayward, the daughter of Dr. Thomas Hayward and Dr. Ann Hanlon, is a 2005 graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, N.H. She is entering her final undergraduate year at Clemson University in Clemson, S.C., where she is studying political science.
