ANDOVER – Two Harley-Davidson riders were hurt Wednesday night when one of them struck a moose with his motorcycle on Route 120 in this Oxford County town. The other rider had to lay his bike down in the road when he came upon the crash scene.

Police say the men suffered bruises and scrapes to their faces, hands and arms and were taken to Rumford Hospital. The moose returned to the woods.

The accident occurred just hours after state Fisheries and Wildlife Commissioner Dan Martin issued a warning urging drivers to be on the lookout for wildlife along Maine’s roads.
