BANGOR – Justin Courtney’s two-run double and Kenny Colpritt’s RBI single highlighted a six-run fifth inning that propelled Bangor East past rival Bangor West 10-5 in Little League all-star baseball action for ages 11-12 at the Bangor West field Monday.
Nick Leach topped the Bangor East hitters with a two-run homer in the first and a single, and Brendan Moore added two singles. Courtney pitched the first five innings, striking out nine, to earn the win. Leach struck out the side in the sixth in relief.
Hunter Boyce rapped two singles and Galen Perry had a double to power Bangor West.

At Marden Park, Orono, Jordan Morrow allowed one hit and two walks while striking out 13 through five innings at Millinocket shutout Orono-Veazie.
Morrow hit two home runs and a single to drive in three runs for Millinocket. Seth Brown hit a two-run triple and Ryan Leavitt doubled and singled with two RBIs.
Zach Palmeter singled in the first inning to pace Orono-Veazie.

At Thomaston, Reed Pozzy pitched a no-hitter, striking out 15 and walking only one as the Waldo County stars prevailed.
Grayson Szumilas hit an RBI single to pace Waldo County. James Harvey doubled and Abe Lebel singled and scored a run.
Belfast’s Alex Snider recorded seven strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings.

At Glenburn, Paige Morrill doubled in the go-ahead run as Bangor rallied for the win and a berth in today’s 5:30 p.m. game against Hermon.
If Hermon wins, it captures a berth in the state tournament. If Bangor wins, the teams play again Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
Brianna Bowlan added a double, single and two RBIs for Bangor, and winning pitcher Casey Modery had two singles and an RBI. Modery also struck out five and walked five in earning the win.
Ashley Libby topped Lincoln with a double and two RBIs, and Taylor Blood had a double. Blood struck out nine and walked four.
