Suspect sought in Lubec shop break-in

LUBEC – Police are searching for a man who is suspected of breaking into the Quik Shop on Main Street last month.

According to Trooper Andrew Foss of the Maine State Police, the burglary took place at about 3:30 a.m. May 22. A surveillance camera recorded at least one suspect entering and leaving the store. It appears that the male suspect was casing the store for about an hour before he broke in. He left the store when the alarm sounded.

No cash was missing from the store, but police believe something was taken.

There was a light in front of the camera and the quality of the recording is not very good, Foss said. Police were not able to get an accurate description of the man. The video was enhanced using equipment at the Brewer Police Department, according to Foss.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Trooper Foss at 800-432-7381.
