ORONO – Trevor Singer has been hired as an assistant coach for the University of Maine men’s soccer team, head coach Pat Laughlin announced Tuesday.

Singer comes to the Black Bears via UMass where he was part of a team last season that finished as national semifinalists. Singer replaces Christopher Parsons, who recently accepted a head coaching position at the University of Maine-Farmington.

“Trevor has been very successful as a player winning a National ODP Championship with Eastern Pennsylvania and helping UMass to the NCAA final four,” said Laughlin. “He is a driven individual who will bring a great deal of energy to the program. I am very happy that Trevor will continue his coaching career with the University of Maine.”

Singer, a back, played the past two seasons at UMass after transferring from Rider University.
