BATH – Bath Iron Works has been awarded a $20.7 million contract from the Navy.

According to Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, the contract will fund more than 233,000 man-hours for services for the Aegis destroyer program. The work is expected to be completed by July 2009.

BIW is the lead builder of the DDG-51 class destroyers.
