The American Legion award was given to Pleasant River Lumber to recognize the company’s patriotism in printing a color American flag on every one of the millions of pieces of lumber produced at the Dover-Foxcroft mill.
“Within our company’s group of seven owners, three have served in our country’s military services and two of them served in Vietnam,” said Luke Brochu, president of Pleasant River Lumber. “We take pride in the fact that we are the only 100 percent Maine-owned dimensional sawmill. It is with honor and patriotism to our country that we adorn each piece of our lumber with the U.S. flag.”
