HAMPDEN – Zach Violette led off the bottom of the eighth inning with a single, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch, and scored the winning run on an error to give Brewer a 5-4 extra-inning victory over Holbrook in Tuesday’s District 3 Junior League baseball game at Bordick Park.
Nick Moore had a two-run double and Violette finished with two singles. Tyler White struck out 10 hitters in five innings.
Brody Valley had two singles and an RBI for Holbrook. Jacob Chapman, Max Andrews and Joe Seccareccia each singled twice.

At Hampden, Curtis Worcester hit a bases-loaded triple in the third inning and Bangor took advantage of 10 walks to knock off Glenburn.

Brandon Thayer’s single in the third inning was the only hit by Holbrook.

At Hampden, Matt Martin drove in Matt Closson in the sixth inning on a fielder’s choice to give Hampden the 5-4 lead and win over Old Town.
Jeremy Kelsey hit a two-run home run in the third inning to pace Hampden. Ben Foster hit an RBI single and Keegan Quigley doubled.
Adam Richardson hit a two-run single in the first inning for Old Town. Pat Quimby and Garvey Melmed each singled and scored two runs.

At Houlton, back-to-back RBI hits by Hunter Hanning and Isaiah Straubel with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning gave Houlton the win in Tuesday’s elimination game.
Hanning doubled and Straubel followed with a single. Hanning also hit a solo home run and picked up the win with two innings of relief. Nick Guiod added two singles.
Dylan Birmingham singled twice for Brewer.

At Hermon, Mason Caron and Wyatt Morse each hit a double and drove in a run to lift Katahdin Valley over Hermon.
Parker Walker had two singles and an RBI for Katahdin Valley. Robbie Rockwell earned the win with 11 strikeouts and one walk in four innings.
Andrew Elston paced Hermon with three singles and two RBIs. Jeremy Beaulieu doubled and singled with two RBIs and Tyler Thayer added a double and an RBI.

Millinocket’s Jordan Morrow hit a two-run home run in the first inning and an RBI double in the fifth inning. Nick Dumas and Derrick Tanous each hit two singles.
Cody Collins singled and scored for Bangor East. Brendan Moore and Chris Hillier singled.

Jacob Morneau doubled in a run in the sixth for Bangor West while Mike Dow doubled.

At Ellsworth, Jason Crossman doubled and singled to knock in four runs as Ellsworth triumphed in four innings.
Connor Maguire singled twice (4 RBIs) while Alex Braley chipped in two singles and two RBIs for Ellsworth.
Garrison Looke had two singles and Joe Pal an RBI single for Coastal.
