BREWER – Lincoln Lumber handed the Brewer Falcons their first loss of the season in the first game of a Wednesday Zone 1 American Legion baseball doubleheader, but Brewer came back with a vengeance in the second game.
Lincoln downed Brewer 11-7 behind two key home runs in the first game before Brewer rebounded with a 17-2 win.
In the first game, Andy Kay hit a three-run homer in the first and singled, and Lance Bernier added a two-run homer in the second and a single to power Lincoln. A.J. Harris had two singles and Pete Coggins notched a complete-game win.
Chase Daniels had a triple, a single and two RBIs for Brewer. Prentiss Swett had two singles and an RBI.
In the second game, Billy Bissell hit a three-run homer in the fourth while Swett had a double, three singles and two RBIs. Cam Wadleigh had a triple, a single and four RBIs and Eric White hit a solo homer in the third.
Bernier paced Lincoln with three singles while Cory Barnett had a double and a single.
