Kelley sparks victory Penquis stops Motor City

DOVER-FOXCROFT – Scott Kelley’s three-run double highlighted a six-run fourth inning that carried Penquis to a 7-5 American Legion baseball victory over Motor City Thursday.

Kelley also poked two singles for the winners, and winning pitcher A.J. McGowen hit two doubles and a single with an RBI. Dan Beatham singled and drove in two runs and Ryan Olmsted added an RBI single.

Aaron Healey (RBI) and Nick Smith each singled twice for Motor City.

At Blue Hill, Calvin Tweedie’s three-run home run sparked a seven-run seventh inning that lifted Trenton by Steamboat Petroleum of Waldo County.

Collin Ciomei, Lucas Marks and Ebb Walton each added an RBI single in the seventh. Marks finished with two singles a double.

Miles Davee hit a solo home run and RBI single for Steamboat and Nate Adams added three singles, a double and an RBI. Tyler Miles contributed a single and double.

Lincoln 7, Calais 5

At Calais, Tyson Tash hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning to drive in Andy Kay for the winning run as Lincoln Lumber defeated the Calais Suns.

Kay posted a double and a two-run single while Cory Barnett had an RBI single and a triple. Garen Manzo hit a solo home run and Lance Bernier and Tyler Tash each had a double for Lincoln.

Dylan Ramsdell had two singles and an RBI for Calais. Matt O’Brien hit a double and Scott Boomer and Tim Barnes each added two singles for the Suns.
