BANGOR – On May 18, Nathan Hatch was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout by Lowell-Enfield Troop 64.
State Sen. Elizabeth Schneider attended the Eagle Court of Honor at Camp Roosevelt, Katahdin Scout Reservation and brought with her congratulations from Gov. John Baldacci and a proclamation from the state Legislature.
Among others, letters of commendation were on display from President Bush, Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, Baldacci and former Presidents Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Carter.
Hatch has earned a total of 28 merit badges and holds the position of junior assistant Scoutmaster. He is a member of the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s National Honor Society. Within the Order of the Arrow, he has advanced to brotherhood.
Hatch is the son of Rowena and Wayne Clukey of Enfield and Robert and Dawn Hatch of Medford, and he is the grandson of Lucille Jackins of Holden. He is a junior at Penobscot Valley High School and plans to attend Eastern Maine Community College, where he plans to pursue a career in welding.
