Calais teams record victories in two divisions

CALAIS – Jasmine Ross tossed a two-hitter to help lead Calais to a 7-4 victory over Ellsworth during a Little League softball all-star game for ages 11-12 Saturday.

Bridgett Hunnewell posted two singles and a home run for Calais.

Chelsea Beal and Christa Benn each hit a single for Ellsworth.

Calais 15, Machias 14

At Machias, Devon Perkins scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning on a groundout to lead Calais past Machias.

Madison McVicar and Kaylee Johnson each hit a triple, double and single. Johnson recorded eight strikeouts.

Olivia McBrine hit three triples and scored four runs to pace Machias. Lauren Raye added a single and two runs scored.

At Orrington, Corelia Stewart hit three singles and a double to help lift Bangor over Orrington Saturday.

Bangor’s Stewart also had 12 strikeouts. Taylor Simpson hit two doubles and Kylie Cunningham singled twice.

Lincoln 12, Hampden 10

At Orrington, Lincoln scored two runs in the bottom of six inning to defeat Hampden Saturday.

Camryn Lyons singled twice for Lincoln and Adrianna Tilton added a double and a single.

Erin Murphy paced Hampden with a triple and two singles. Courtney Dunton hit two singles and a double.

Bangor 12, Hermon 3

At Orrington, the Bangor all-stars scored 12 runs on just two hits as they defeated Hermon Sunday.

Eve George and Taylor Simpson singled for Bangor.

Allesa Oakes singled three times to pace Hermon.
