AURORA, Colo. – Ricky Jones of Thomaston shot a 6-over par 77 in the second round of the 83rd U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship at Murphy Creek Golf Course Tuesday.

Jones finished with a tie of 83rd place and missed the cut for the 64-player field for Wednesday’s match play.

Jones finished the first round with a 72 and a share of 29th in the 156-player field.

Aaron Goldberg of Carlsbad, Calif., finished the second round with a 10-under par 132 for the best score after two rounds of medal play.

Rickie Fowler of Murrieta, Calif., finished second with a 133. Zachary Zaremba of Pueblo West, Colo. had a score of 135. Brian Locke of Los Angeles, Corey Nagy of Charlotte, N.C., and Brandon Crick of McCook, Neb. tied for fourth with a score of 137.
