Calais rallies, halts Hampden

CALAIS – Tim Barnes and Scott Geel slapped run-scoring singles to fuel a three-run rally in the bottom of the fifth inning Wednesday evening as Calais upset Hampden 3-2 in a Zone 1 American Legion baseball contest.

Dylan Ramsdell contributed two singles for Calais behind winning pitcher Scott Boomer.

Shawn Smith knocked in a run with a double for Hampden.

At Hermon, Andrew Patterson pitched a three-hitter to propel Union Street Cleaners to a Bay League victory over MovingMe.com.

Billy Kane hit two singles and scored a run to pace the winners, while George Keefe hit an RBI single in the first inning.

Aaron Sullivan hit a sacrifice fly.

Brad Goody led MovingMe.com with an RBI single and Marcus Nadeau singled twice.
