AUGUSTA – Maine’s attorney general’s office said the state expects a pay out of $829,862 from drugmaker Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. as part of a multistate settlement of allegations of Medicaid fraud and illegal drug marketing practices.

Attorney General Steven Rowe said the state is sharing in a $389 million settlement with 43 states, the District of Columbia and the federal government.

The drugmaker, which does not face criminal charges, was accused of providing false pricing information for more than 20 drugs, paying kickbacks and illegally marketing drugs for uses not approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

Maine’s portion will be paid to the Department of Health and Human Services.
