Woman in crash has history of violations

SANFORD – A North Waterboro woman charged with hitting a motorcyclist with her car and driving away has a long history of motor vehicle violations.

Police said Kimberly Gignac, 25, has admitted to striking Alan Morin, 50, of Standish on Thursday night while he was riding along Route 202. Morin died of his injuries at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

According to the Journal Tribune of Biddeford, Gignac has had her license suspended seven times and was arrested in May for drunken driving. She has been convicted three times for operating after suspension, once for driving to endanger and once for driving while being a habitual offender.

Sanford police said Gignac last month was charged with theft for allegedly trying to steal beer from a convenience store.

She is being held on $10,000 cash bail at the York County Jail.
