OLD TOWN – Nick Leach pitched a two-hitter and helped his own cause with two singles and two RBIs as Bangor East beat Millinocket 12-1 to win the District 3 Little League baseball title for ages 11-12 Thursday.

Bangor East advances to the state tournament in Lebanon, which starts today, and will face Camden-Rockport Saturday at 11 a.m.

Two years ago, the Bangor East and Millinocket All-Stars battled for the District 3 title in the ages 9-10 division with Bangor East rallying to win the last two games to capture the title.

Justin Courtney hit two singles and drove in three runs to lead Bangor East in Thursday’s game while Rye Powell added a double.

Jordan Morrow and Seth Brown each hit a single for Millinocket.

At Bangor, Garrett Ring doubled and singled to knock in three runs and lead Houlton into Saturday’s championship game.

Connor Graham and Garrett Putnam each had a two-run single for the winners.

Trevor Delaite led Lincoln with two singles, a double and triple (5 RBIs) while Scotty Jipson had two singles and two RBIs and Trevor Sutherland two singles and a triple.

At Calais, Spencer Johnson’s bases-loaded triple, William Giero’s two-run triple, Kyle Johnson’s two-run double and Isaac Collins’ run-scoring double keyed a 10-run fifth inning that enabled Calais to eliminate Bucksport I.

Calais hosts unbeaten Ellsworth Saturday at 6 p.m. in the championship round.

Spencer Johnson had two singles to go with his triple and Giero and Kyle Johnson also had singles.

Kyle Johnson struck out 10 in 4 1/3 innings.

Asher Bowden doubled and singled for Bucksport I with Jack Cyr and Jayson Grindle each collecting a base hit.

At Glenburn, Carinn Burns pitched a five-inning no-hitter, striking out nine and walking four, as Kennebunkport opened the tourney with a victory.

Molly LaPointe paced the winners with two singles and three RBIs, while Brittany Mador singled with an RBI.

Losing pitcher Hannah Corney allowed only three hits.

At Glenburn, Erin Giles had two singles and a double to knock in two runs as Scarborough defeated Auburn.

At Calais, Olivia Smith pitched a two-hitter, striking out 10 and walking one, and helped her own cause with two doubles and a single as the Calais stars rolled to the District 1 softball championship.

Kaylee Johnson rapped a triple, a double and a single for the winners, while Madison McVicar hit a double and two singles. Alyssa Polk added a single and three RBIs.

Tate Dolley led Machias with a double and Danika Foss singled.

Rebecca Hatt singled for Lincoln.
