CARIBOU – A Caribou man attracted the attention of more than birds and squirrels Saturday evening after reportedly firing a gun in the area of the West Gate Trailer Park.

Dale Lint, 37, also drew the attention of the Caribou Police Department.

Caribou Police Chief Michael Gahagan said Monday that the incident began at 11:05 p.m. Saturday, when the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department reported they had received a call by cell phone of shots being fired in the area of the trailer park.

Caribou police found Lint, who is a convicted felon, in possession of a handgun. They also found a 9-mm casing. Police ultimately secured a search warrant and found multiple marijuana plants, prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Lint was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, aggravated cultivation of marijuana and possession of scheduled drugs.

He was taken to the Aroostook County Jail where bail was set at $3,000 cash or $30,000 surety. He remained at the jail Monday.
