BANGOR – Lonnie Hackett hit a double and two singles while driving in three runs to lead Bangor past Brewer 17-2 at Mansfield Stadium to win the state Senior League baseball title Tuesday.
Bangor advances to the Senior League World Series in Bangor that begins Sunday, Aug. 10.
Kyle Savage allowed four hits, one walk and no earned runs while striking out six for Bangor.
Bangor’s Devin Lyshon doubled and singled with two RBIs and Cody McInnis added two singles and two RBIs. Nate Lewis and Tyler Desjardins each singled twice.
Jamie Williamson paced Brewer with a double.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Luke Hettermann and Cody Savage combined to allow three hits, six walks and five strikeouts to lead Bangor to the shutout win over Bucksport.
Bucksport and Bangor will play today at 5:30 p.m. in Bucksport for the state championship.
Josiah Hartley hit three singles and drove in a run for Bangor.
Bangor turned four double plays.
Ryan Bailey, Andrew Giosia and James Potter singled for Bucksport.

At Lebanon, Caleb McFarland hit a three-run home run in top of the sixth to help lead Camden-Rockport to victory.
The victory advanced Camden-Rockport to Friday’s championship round at 6 p.m. against a team from the losers bracket. A win gives Camden-Rockport the state title, a loss sends it to a second game for the title on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Camden scored its first run in Tuesday’s game on a passed ball.

At Orrington, Cordellia Stewart pitched a three-hitter while striking out 11 batters and walking four to lead Bangor to the District 3 championship-game victory.
Bangor scored five runs in the first with the big hit coming from Sydni Cosgrove, who hit a two-run single. Cosgrove finished with two singles, two steals and two RBIs.
Amber Chasse led Hermon with an RBI single, a double, and two steals.
Bangor advances to play the District 5 champion Saturday in a 4 p.m. first round game at the state tournament in Waldoboro.

At Glenburn, Erin Giles plated two runs with three singles to help Scarborough clinch the state championship.
Kate Daniels hit two singles and Emily Carpenter added an RBI single to back winning pitcher Allison Williamson, who scattered five hits with nine strikeouts and one walk.
Emily Bolduc, Kennedy Hubbard and Ashlee Arnold singled for Auburn Suburban during a two-run sixth inning.
