BUCKSPORT – Jesse Wood hit a three-run triple to highlight a six-run third inning Wednesday as Bangor cruised past Bucksport 13-3 to win the Junior League Baseball state championship.
Bangor advances to the Eastern Regional Tournament in Freehold, N.J., and will play Aug. 2 at 7 p.m.
Luke Hettermann hit two doubles and a single and scored three runs for the winners. Bobby Winchell rapped a triple, while Christian Corneil hit an RBI double.
Ryan Bailey doubled and singled and Mat Swazey hit two singles for Bucksport.

At Calais, Kennadi Grover singled in the game-winning run in the fifth inning as Rockland edged Saco to capture the Junior League championship.
Rockland advances to the regional tournament for 13- and 14-year-olds scheduled for Aug. 2-7 in Syracuse, N.Y.
Natalie Russell earned the win for Rockland, allowing two earned runs with nine strikeouts.
Natalie Russell and Tamra Wallace each drove in a run in the first inning for Rockland.
Vanessa McCrum hit a two-run double in the fifth inning for Saco.
