WATERVILLE – Police say the body of an 82-year-old woman who was reported missing from an assisted living center in Waterville has been recovered from the Kennebec River.
Rachel Nelson, who lived in the Woodlands Assisted Living facility, was reported missing Monday night. That prompted a search the next day involving a seaplane, dogs, police officers, firefighters and game wardens.
Nelson’s body was recovered Tuesday morning about a mile south of the Waterville boat landing.
