Dr. Jonathan Shenkin, a pediatric dentist in private practice in Bangor, is the new president-elect of the Maine Dental Association. Shenkin is an assistant clinical professor of health policy, health services research and pediatric dentistry at Boston University. He completed his dental degree at Columbia University, a master of public health degree at Johns Hopkins University, a residency in dental public health at the National Institutes of Health and a residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of Iowa. His wife, Dr. Michal Kleinlerer, is an orthodontist in Waterville.

Daniel Wing, a package car driver for UPS, has been recognized by the company for completing 15 years without an accident. Wing, who works out of the UPS facility at 14 Atlantic Ave., Brewer, provides service in the Sedgwick area. Wing and his wife, Belinda, live in Brewer. They have three children: Timothy, 25, Richard, 20, and Olivia, 8. UPS said its drivers log more than 2 billion miles a year on U.S. roads and average less than one accident per million miles driven.
